🔰First thing to do if you find out your phone is overheating.

WHY DO SMARTPHONES OVERHEAT?
Most electronic devices are designed to balance the amount of heat they generate and keep themselves from overheating. However, that doesn’t mean that your phone will always do that effectively.

If your phone is also exposed to high external temperatures because it’s been sitting in the sun or in your pocket while you enjoy the hot, sunny weather, it can make it harder for your phone to cool itself down.

While modern smartphones are basically tiny computers, remember that they don’t have the same complex cooling systems that full-size computers do. That means it might need a little help to cool down if it starts to overheat.

HOW TO COOL DOWN YOUR SMARTPHONE
If your phone gets too hot for you to touch or is displaying a temperature warning message, follow these steps right away:

1.Turn off your phone
2.Make sure your phone is out of direct sunlight
3.Remove your phone from its case to better expose it to cooling air
4.If your phone is plugged into a charger, unplug it
5.If you have access to a fan or air conditioning, place your phone in front of a vent or fan to gently cool it down.
HOW TO KEEP YOUR SMARTPHONE FROM OVERHEATING
Effectively preventing your phone from overheating will vary depending on why the device is getting too hot. Basic weather-related tips are to avoid leaving your phone in your car or in direct sunlight.

If your phone is overheating even while you’re using it in a cool place, then consider taking the following precautions to keep your smartphone from overheating.

1.Make sure your apps are current. If there are updates to your apps that have bug fixes, this can help improve efficiency and your apps should use up less energy, keeping your phone from running too hot.
2.Don’t stack your phone on top of or under other devices. We’re all guilty of this! Placing your phone on top of your computer or tablet can make it more likely to overheat. Separate your devices so they can all stay cooler.
3.Get rid of unnecessary apps. Do you have apps on your phone you don’t use anymore? Try uninstalling apps that you don’t need to reduce the amount of work your device has to do.
4.Try to avoid extreme temperature changes. Don’t expose your phone to extreme hot or cold if you can help it. Some online resources suggest putting your overheating phone into the freezer…don’t do this! Taking your phone from extreme heat to extreme cold can critically damage it.
5.Use the right charger for your phone. Chargers have different wattages and many are optimized to work with specific brands. It’s always best to use the phone charger recommended by its manufacturer to avoid overheating your phone while it is charging.
Overheating can seriously damage your phone in ways you don’t see. Specifically, when your phone overheats it can damage your battery and its SOC (System on a Chip AKA the “brain” of your smartphone).
